1. Information We Collect

Website Visitors

Calculator Data: All calculator inputs (TDEE, macros, protein, BMR, etc.) are processed locally in your browser using JavaScript. We do not transmit, store, or have access to any personal health information you enter into our website calculators.

Automatically Collected Information: When you visit our website, we may automatically collect browser type, device type, IP address (anonymized), pages visited, time spent on pages, referring website, and general location (city/country level only).

Mobile App Users

Account Information: When you create an account in the mobile app, we collect your email address and password. Passwords are securely hashed and never stored in plain text.

Profile Information: You may optionally provide your name, date of birth, height, weight, sex, and activity level to enable personalized macro calculations.

Nutrition Data: We store the food entries, meals, recipes, and daily logs you create within the app. This data is used solely to provide the app's tracking functionality to you.

Device Information: We may collect device type and operating system version for the purpose of app performance and crash reporting.

2. How We Use Your Information

Website:

• Provide and improve our website services
• Analyze website usage and trends
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

Mobile App:

• Provide and maintain the app's macro tracking features
• Calculate personalized nutrition targets based on your profile
• Send optional notifications (meal reminders, weekly reports) that you can enable or disable at any time
• Improve app performance and fix bugs

3. Third-Party Services

Google Analytics (Website): We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymous usage data. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Cloudflare (Website): We use Cloudflare for website hosting, security, and content delivery.

Supabase (Mobile App): We use Supabase for secure authentication and database hosting. Your data is stored on Supabase's infrastructure with row-level security enabled. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.

FatSecret Platform API (Mobile App): When you search for foods or scan barcodes, your search queries are sent to FatSecret to retrieve nutritional data. We do not share any personal information with FatSecret. See FatSecret's Privacy Policy.

Expo / EAS (Mobile App): We use Expo's build and update services for app distribution. See Expo's Privacy Policy.

4. Data Storage and Security

Website: Calculator data is processed entirely in your browser and never leaves your device. Analytics data is stored by Google Analytics according to their retention policies.

Mobile App: Your data is stored securely using Supabase's hosted PostgreSQL database with row-level security (RLS) policies, meaning you can only access your own data. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS/SSL) and authentication tokens are stored securely on your device.

5. Cookies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your browsing experience. You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences.

Types of Cookies:

• Essential Cookies: Required for the website to function properly
• Analytics Cookies: Help us understand how visitors use our site
• Preference Cookies: Remember your settings and preferences

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We only share data with the third-party services listed above as necessary to operate our Services.

8. Data Retention

Website: We do not retain calculator data. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' data retention policies (default: 26 months).

Mobile App: We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will permanently remove your data within 30 days.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

10. International Users

Our Services are hosted in the United States. If you access our Services from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.

11. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), our legal basis for collecting and using your information depends on the specific context:

Website: We do not collect or store personal information from website calculators. For analytics data, you can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out tool.

Mobile App: You may request access to or deletion of your account data by contacting us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date." For mobile app users, we will notify you of material changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of our Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
